Ban Johnson to visit Boston on sale talks for club
Ban Johnson, head of the American League, is expected in Boston to settle the proposed sale of the Boston team to Hon. John F. Fitzgerald. The deal hinges on price, with Fitzgerald offering about 135000, a figure critics call low for a champion team earning around 50000. Johnson’s visit may conclude with approval if terms satisfy league policy favoring local capital control.
