Miraculous Escape On Shore Line Parlor Car
Mrs. L Kendall 72 and her granddaughter Miss Jessie Thurston 30 both of Portland Maine and Walter C Porter 30 of Portland escaped a deadly plunge from a down grade after Thurston opened the car door on the Pequot near Providence. The two women leaped from the moving train and landed in the sand with Mrs Kendall suffering multiple arm fractures and a head bruise while Thurston only had facial scratches.
