Boston Heating Company announces readiness to supply heat or power to existing contract customers and new clients in any quantities. It invites examinations of its system for cleanliness and safety, offers special summer contracts for steam power, and provides mail or office applications with prompt attention and agents on request.
The New York event on March 26 saw J W Baird beat McLeod and T chi orin beat Burn, Burille beat Gossip, Lipschutz defeated Martinez, Gunsberg beat Hanham, Delmar won by forfeit against Bird, Mason beat Showater, Blackburne defeated Pollock, and Taubenhaus drew with Weiss. Nomination for Holyoke Massachusetts postmaster Charles B Prescott was sent in on the recommendation of Congressman Rodney Wallace. Prescott, the current postmaster and a Republican, has held the office twenty five years with the strongest business endorsement among Republicans.
Officers of the Navy Department report British participation in Rear-Admiral Chandler funeral rites in Hong Kong on February 10. Over 700 Highlanders and 1000 English sailors lined the procession with crape bands on sleeves as the graveside service echoed with cannon salutes from harbor ships.
