Sharp Sugar led rally as market closes strong on earnings surge
Sugar stock drove a broad rally with Amalgamated and Reading among leaders. Sugar rose to 1271 8, closing near day’s high after American Sugar Refining reported 1907 net earnings of 8.75 million and a 7 percent dividend. The day featured strong money and wide gains across Reading, Canadian Pacific, Northern Pacific, and other issues amid renewed optimism.
