Nine Children Slain by Mad Parents in Coldbrook
In Coldbrook Lizzie Naramore killed her six children with an axe and a club then attempted suicide. The bodies were left on two beds. the husband Frank Naramore returned home to find the grisly scene. Medical examiners battled to save Lizzie as neighbors recount her confession of the crime. The tragedy follows earlier reports of similar familicides in Maine and New Hampshire.

Death of former Mayor James H. Eaton in Lawrence
Ex mayor James H. Eaton died at his Bradford street home after returning from a banquet. Heart disease is suspected. He was about 70, treasurer of Essex Springs Bank, elected mayor in 1898 and 1899, defeated in 1900. He leaves a widow and son Fred H. Eaton.

Blind Buffalo man regains sight in Baltimore surgery
Valentine Bots of Buffalo New York 82 had his sight restored after a surgical operation in Baltimore at the Presbyterian Eye and Ear Hospital. He had been totally blind since age four from smallpox scars on the eyeballs and was operated on by Professor A Douglas McConachie. Light returned as a delicate incision behind the eyeball freed a piece of calloused flesh. He described seeing his deliverer for the first time in twenty eight years.
