Emperor as Money Lent and the Downfall of Kings

A London column pillories European finance and monarchy. It mocks Nicholas I offering 50 million florins to Austria, ridicules Louis Philippe's Reform Banquet and gunpowder display, and foresees kings being ridiculed or dethroned by public opinion. It also hints at Euclid’s hard railway timetable problem and the painful removal of Jewish disabilities via Old Reform.
