In Erie, Horace Marvin case ends with a false clue. A boy in the city matched the description but turned out to be the son of a Ripley, New York couple undergoing divorce. Authorities say the boy resembles the missing Delaware child.
A crowd of officials and detectives moved on a house three miles outside Erie as a search for a kidnapped boy intensified. Skirmishers monitored the property while a cordon surrounded the site. authorities had learned of the boy's presence since Monday but only started a formal chase yesterday. A local attorney was briefly linked to the case but refused comment as private detectives watched his office.
Patrolman Michael Welch of the Hanover Street station was dismissed after a four day trial board found him guilty. The case centered on conduct unbecoming an officer and mail abuse following his failed courtship of Eva Boudrot a 19 year old former Richmond operator.
