Lexington committee reframes gas and water pricing plan
In Lexington on March 19 the committee reviewing gas and electric rates recommended a $526 appropriation instead of $4500 spent last year and voted to recommit the issue for a three week report. Everett Locke urged joining metropolitan water service, estimating the cost at 500, with a Water Board report and four appointees to study the matter at a later special town meeting.

The second instalment of the Revere town meeting was held last night. The appropriation list included 13000 in interest 89428 notes and bonds 46000 schools 12000 police 10000 street lighting 13000 fire department 2000 catch basins and drains 1500 sewers 10000 highways 2000 edgestones 2000 sidewalks 2000 public library. The town clerk’s salary rises from 300 to 500 a year. A panel was appointed to study laying out streets in the town warrant. A heated debate failed to block 15000 for building the Waverly Avenue schoolhouse, which was eventually approved.
