Loxpon notes that Jubilee plans by the Archbishop and the Prince of Wales fail amid public criticism. He reveals army hardships, including pay of one shilling daily, two meals, deductions, kit costs, and slow promotion due to good conduct rules. The piece argues soldiers face harsh discipline and limited prospects.
