In Worcester Representative Hugh W. H. O Rourke denounced street railways as aligned with railroads as a bill to require emergency lifting jacks on all city cars faced a defeated vote. TheHouse rejected the measure by 71 to 56 after debate on corporate influence and safety duties. O Rourke warned of past accidents and pledged further reconsideration.
Haverhill March 16 John E Kinball treasurer of Haverhill Encampment T O O F was arrested early this morning charged with larceny of 70 dollars from the encampment funds. The warrant was sworn out after midnight by a lodge committee. Kinball will be arraigned tomorrow morning.
