Man Attacked by Knifeman in Dorchester A Narrow Escape
Fred Hood, 21, of 926 Washington street, was stabbed near heart level on Dorchester avenue as he turned into Powers street at about 7 15 pm. The assailant fled after a single lunge, with no robbery attempted. Hood gave a vague description and police seek a man aged 20 to 24, about 5 7, 140 pounds, smooth face, wearing a dark overcoat with collar up and an old derby hat.

Struck at the Dorchester crossing injures two boys
Two boys William Collins aged 11 of 12 Tudor Street and Thomas Burke aged 8 of 9% Tudor Street were struck by an inbound Old Colony train at the Dorchester Avenue crossing last evening. Gates were down as they snuck under to cross. Collins suffered a fractured elbow and severe hand lacerations while Burke had a badly crushed left foot. They were moved to Station 6 then City Hospital. no fatal outcome expected.

Switchman Charles Cozer Killed by Engine at Union Depot
Charles Cozer a 38 year old switchman at Union depot was struck and killed yesterday afternoon when an engine backed down in the passenger yard. George Watson Tillson, 50, a shoemaker from Middleboro Mass, was found unconscious at the American House after registering as George Watson Carver Mass. He died en route to Massachusetts General Hospital after ingesting morphine and whiskey. A Carver nephew identified the body at the morgue. The body will be moved to Middleboro for interment.
