In Denver on March 12 George Schistler a lineman fired on officers after killing K Fill and family members then set their house alight. Three people died including K Fill and Mrs Fill, two officers wounded, Schistler killed after a running gun battle with police and sheriff deputies.
Charles W. Birtwell and Frank H. Lincoln were attacked by three men on Kent street Brookline. A bullet killed the wounded robber who was called Willie. Mathew Hunt, 30, of Roxbury, is held as another suspect. Birtwell, secretary of the Children's Aid Society, aided the investigation.
Rev. Thomas Van Ness warned at Parker Memorial that money dominates youth. He said conversations reveal a preoccupation with wealth while questioning the profit of gaining the world if the soul is lost.
