Denver March 11 Last night a snow slide swept Woodstock on the South Park line 735 miles from Leadville carrying away all buildings and trapping seventeen people including Mrs Doyle and six children. Many mining camps remain snowbound with Breckenridge and Montrose in dire distress.
Special Dispatch to the Boston Post from Bath Maine reports Democrats won a straight ticket victory led by George H. Nichols, by about two hundred votes over rival Republicans. It is the first such win since 1853-4. Republicans split into two factions, with Bill Wakefield angered at the result and the party’s state prospects dimmed.

O'Brien won the chair 148 to 109, with 258 of 288 delegates present. the vote was made unanimous. Other officers elected include Col. C.S. Spencer as 1st vice president, John McLean as 2d vice president, Solon B. Smith as secretary, Patrick Goodson as assistant secretary, and Wm. A. Darling as treasurer.
