Cambridge election yields larger majority for No-license

The Cambridge municipal election concluded yesterday with the No-license side winning by 851 votes, a larger margin than last year. City Treasurer Timothy W. Good led the electoral result for the pro- or anti-license position.

Arrest Expected in Death of 16 Year Old Alice Lyman

Medical Examiner Watters indicated an arrest on a manslaughter charge may be made today in the death of 16 year old Alice Lyman of South Boston. The girl died in a freight elevator at the Jefferson building scene after a water bucket was allegedly dumped to deter youths.

Moyer Tells of Deportation from Michigan Copper Strike

Charles H. Moyer president of the Western Federation of Miners testified before a congressional committee about his deportation from the Hancock mining district last December. He said three men visited his hotel room and, with 15 to 18 others, discussed allowing citizens to donate to relief for the Italian Hall disaster survivors.

Will Demand Huerta Make Promise Good

The United States will press President Huerta to punish those responsible for the murder of American horse trader Clemente Vergara. Secretary Bryan sent the telegraphic report on Vergara’s wounds to Charge O Shaughnessy in Mexico City to refute claims he escaped federals and joined rebels. Charge O Shaughnessy will seek reparation and punishment once Texas Governor Colquitt’s investigation concludes.

Consul Garrett in Laredo Texas and Brigadier General Bliss in El Paso reported on the Vergara expedition led by Vergara's widow who financed it.
