Mrs. Hannah E. Howe aged 80 and her daughter Nellie E. Howe aged 40 died in a mysterious fire at 188 Concord Avenue Somerville yesterday afternoon. Authorities suspect Mrs Howe poured kerosene on a basement fire. Damage was about 500 dollars. In Boston a separate fatal burn claimed Mrs Mary Care of 7 Gay Street.
Fire at a Boxford area home killed two women, Mrs Howe and Mrs Sheehey, as flames trapped them in different house sections. Investigators suspect kerosene oil used on a stubborn fire, with one leg found in the cellar and a second body discovered in the kitchen amid burned clothing. The blaze started unseen and was reported after 2.00.
Mrs. Mary Care widow of 6 years residing at 7 Gay Street, died at City Hospital after oil stove overturned yesterday afternoon. She was alone when the accident occurred. nearby residents and Protective 2 extinguished the blaze. She suffered severe burns before the flames were put out and died before she could describe the incident.
A Moro bandsmen stronghold on Mt Dajo summit 2100 feet high was assaulted by the Sixth Infantry a naval detachment and constabulary. Casualties total 18 American killed 52 wounded with six hundred Moro dead. Major General Wood praised the ascent and block and tackle siege that carried artillery to the crater summit. Ensign H D Cooke Jr wounded commanded Pampanga.

The district attorney ended the McNary-Fitzgerald inquiry after failing to find criminal evidence tying McNary to the disputed letter. Witnesses Arundel and Joyce gave little useful testimony, with Arundel laughing as he left and Joyce’s remarks deemed not serious. The probe was extended a month to hear Arundel.

Jacob Wenecer and Samuel Bronstein were killed when their bodies touched fallen live wires at Spruce and Heard streets in Chelsea. William Almeder cut the wires and removed them, while witnesses reported Bronstein may have run into the wires and Wenecer tried to pull him away.
