Chief Justice Doe of the New Hampshire Supreme Court died of apoplexy at Rollinsford station while en route to a court session. Born April 11, 1830, in Derry, he rose from Dartmouth alumnus to associate justice in 1859 and chief justice later, guiding major murder trials and shaping state law. He left a wife and eight children. Funeral plans were private.
Rosa Roylston a 19 year old of 27 Falmouth Street Norwich Conn attempted death by taking cocaine on Sunday night after leaving home following a dispute with her father Thomas Roylston. She recalled that she drank heavily the night before and claimed she would never do it again as she was restrained and sent to City Hospital for treatment.
Lowell marks the death of Frederic T. Greenhalge with a simple low key funeral. The private interment enclosed family and close friends at Lowell cemetery as crowds gathered outside and salutes rang out across the city.
