A severe storm lashed Boston with thunder and vivid lightning during heavy snowfall. A bolt struck an unused wireless station atop the Board of Trade building, causing alarms as shipping and rail service faltered for hours.
A rare winter thunderstorm hit the city with snow and vivid lightning 4 PM. A bolt struck the wireless tower atop the Board of Trade building at State and Broad, the first such winter strike since 1918. Thousands recalled the Woburn explosion as thunder roared across the metropolitan district.
William Feiker four time Northampton mayor and bachelor met Mrs. Catharine Richards in New York and sought a marriage license. Feiker said he never married and was born in Germany 47 years ago. Richards, born in Pennington Massachusetts, said she is of age and American.
Mayor William H. Feiker, completing his fourth term in Northampton, attempted to marry at the Little Church Around the Corner on Ash Wednesday. Rev Dr Houghton refused, noting no marriages on that day. Mrs. Richards, widow of James Richards in a fatal accident, has three children.

The body of former Waltham mayor Thomas F. Kearns was found wedged between rocks in the Charles River at Watertown. Officials say he died by suicide after a bout of illness, following his disappearance on December 31, 1915. An inquest will follow per Medical Examiner George L. West.
The body of a missing man, identified by city solicitor Harry P. Trainor, was recovered near the Watertown dam after hours of river rescue work by police, firemen, and volunteers. Cuff links with initials T F K and keys to a private office helped confirm the identity amid a nationwide search.
