A Florida southbound vestibule train derailed at Scotland Georgia due to a tampered switch. The wreck killed 18 year old Mrs. C W Suthers of Pickens Mississippi and injured Roland Reed and several cast members of his company among others onboard. The banded group was aboard three Pullman cars and coaches. Reed rescued three women before authorities halted further danger. The train was moving around fifty miles per hour at impact.
