Hearings End Tomorrow on Big Combines Case
John P. Wilson of Chicago, chief counsel for the defendants, will conclude hearings tomorrow. The Attorney General argues that colossal combinations control most harvesting machinery, with one dummy and six office boys forming a large chain. Assets were transferred to William C. Lane for sub sequent transfer to New Jersey corporations. Lane the dummy offered to move subsidiaries, the office boys agreed, and George W. Perkins led them. Morgan & Co. received 3,500,000 for promotion services to legalize what was illegal, the AG asserts, and rejects any claim of no intent to evade the Sherman law.
