Prices Higher on Short Covering in Copper Markets
Wall Street notes a morning stock surge amid bets on a Northern Securities ruling. Markets global and at home showed volatility as delays in the decision dampened optimism, with copper stocks like Amalgamated and Copper Range rallying late. Exchange officials refused listing for Greene Consolidated, cited sworn statements as required. Projections include Lake Superior copper output and expectations of lake navigation reopening.
