Nominating Conventions Basis of Representation Bill

A Massachusetts House committee recommended rejecting resolutions favoring a basis of representation for nominating conventions. The vote structure and divisions followed, with a later division tally of 95 yeas to 68 nays. The measure would limit conventions to parties with at least 3 percent of statewide votes, basing delegation on prior election results while guaranteeing at least one delegate per town or ward.
