Seven Hurt In Smash Of Three Cars In Gloucester

Gloucester June 29 seven people injured in a triangular collision near Stanleys corner on State road. Almon B Cook of Gloucester Sonson L Wetherell and sister Maude of Danvers Dr James Sartwell his wife and child and Mrs Bagley of Danvers thrown from their machines with Mrs Sartwell most severely hurt. Further treatment at a nearby resident's home.

Three Automobiles Crash in Street Collision Injures Five

A chain collision of Cook Wetherell and Sartwell touring cars on a fair road caused by attempting passes ends with all three cars piled in the roadway. Mrs Sartwell suffers severe cuts and is taken to a nearby house. others have cuts and bruises. Cars towed to a garage. all occupants home.

Six in Narrow Escape in Wakefield Collision

Six people escaped serious injury after two Melrose operated cars collided at Main and Franklin streets in Wakefield yesterday afternoon. Charles H. Everson’s car carried four occupants and arrived at Wakefield square before Gustis Hamis’s vehicle came from Frank en street. Everson swerved to avoid impact, and Hamis’ car struck Everson’s on the side.

Boston Boys Visit City in Quest for Maine Fishing

A quartet of Central American boys touring the United States, led by Adrian Ortiz, toured Boston sights including the State House and Bunker Hill. They plan a Maine fishing trip to catch large fish and return to their coffee-planting families.

Spiritualists Dedicate Lowell Church in All Day Services

The First Spiritualist Church on Middlesex Street near Wilder Street in Lowell was dedicated today with all day services. Mrs Blanche Lyons of Worcester gave the invocation and Miss Susie Clark of Boston delivered the main address. Clark, opposing the usual form, spoke from a vision seen by Palmist Fletcher and titled her talk If Marriage Is Power Then Truth Is Freedom, focusing on spiritualist advantages.

Young Priests at First Mass in Roxbury Parish

Two Roxbury natives ordained for the Order of Redemptorists celebrated their first solemn high mass at their home parish with hundreds of relatives and friends present. Victor Burns and Patrick Downey led the 10:30 service, joined by the Mission Church churchmen and a Brooklyn-based preacher.

Body of M. G. Folan Recovered by Diver

The body of Mark G. Folan, whose clothes were found on Pier 1 at Commonwealth docks South Boston, was recovered by harbor police around noon yesterday. Relatives had hired diver Fred Wallace, who located the body at the harbor bottom opposite Pier 1.

The World reports from Cambridge Massachusetts that Mrs Richard Henry Dana daughter of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and wife of Robert H Hutchinson supports eugenic marriage. Her daughter the first to wed under a eugenic service in Massachusetts the ceremony taking place in Manchester last Thursday.

Dana Family Marriage Shocks Boston Society

Richard H. Dana senior chaired the last Episcopal convention in Boston and his daughter the poet has wed without church or clergy. Mrs. Dana says she supports her children's civil union and ethical eugenic marriage, while reflecting on generational change and individual rights. She notes she would have preferred a church ceremony but accepts the couple’s decision.

Tide balks long swim at Sandy Hook test of endurance

June 29 New York Charles Dur borow, a Philadelphia bank teller, again tried to swim from the Battery wall to the Sandy Hook lighthouse. After seven hours and 20 minutes he gave up within three quarters of a mile of his goal, meeting the incoming tide near Flynn's Knoll and being carried back toward the Jersey mainland.

New York Turnverein Wins North American Bundest Turnfast Title

Paul Krimmel and John F. Bissinger of the New York Turnverein were crowned first and second champions at the 31st North American Bundest Turnfast in Denver. They competed in ten events and earned the most points to secure the top two spots.
