Auto Racers in Siberia
In Tomsk Siberia on June 28 the German Protos and the American Thomas cars, in the New York to Paris race, both arrived within 24 hours of each other. The Protos left at noon after repairs while the Thomas started at 3 am and hoped to take the lead in a few days. The Thomas car continued from Irkutsk toward the third stage, facing delays from ferryboats on the river and a sinking boat when villagers attempted to assist, costing hours.
