Kempff Reports Tien Tsin Relieved by Japanese Force

Rear Admiral Kempff reports by a Japanese torpedo boat that combined forces entered Tien Tsin on Saturday June 23, sustaining small losses. They began relief on Sunday for the force that left Tien Tsin June 10 and is believed to be surrounded near Pekin. Japanese reports say Admiral Seymour and his forces have been captured and the ministers have left Pekin guarded by Chinese soldiers. their whereabouts are unknown.

Kicked to death in Boynton woods near Augusta Maine

Togus veteran Varnum Kimball, 69, of Company D Eleventh Massachusetts Volunteers, returned from a five day pass battered and died Sunday. Officials suspect assault on the Augusta road with unknown assailants, possibly a drunken row or pension money robbery. Autopsy pending. no official statement yet.

Cambridge youth charged with forgery in bank check

Leon Ware, 19, of 198 Hamilton street Cambridge was arrested by Inspectors Collins Harris and Howard for forging the name of Howard W Spurr Co on a Plymouth National Bank check for 120 07 dated June 2 and uttered at Mechanics National Bank yesterday.

Bell Building Collapse Kills Foreman in Philadelphia

A roof and rear wall of the Bell telephone building under construction at Twenty first Street and Allegheny Avenue collapsed. Wilbur F. Miller, superintendent for Charles Caul, died en route to hospital. His son Hiram Miller, 26, and workers Isaac Williams, 23, and Charles Bell, 23, were injured. Williams will die. The wall stood about forty feet high and fell without warning as workers left the roof.

Unknown Woman Found Dead in Woodlawn Cemetery

In Everett a not identified woman was found dead in Woodlawn Cemetery this afternoon. Workmen saw her wandering around noon and later resting under a tree. Police, medical examiner, and undertaker notified. death attributed to natural causes with no signs of suicide.
