Thomas Waters aged 50 a mill worker on Prad street South Gardiner was struck and killed by train No 11 while walking on the track east of the depot. He was deaf and a native of St Stephen New Brunswick leaving a wife and two children.
Arthur G. Massey of New York sues publisher Moses King for 10 000 claiming King forcibly pulled his whiskers after Massey brought twenty seven photographic proofs to a Broadway hotel for a city handbook project. Massey alleges a violent assault disfiguring him and seeks damages. The plaintiff, a Harlem figure and Tammany Hall committee member, recounts the alleged incident and legal action.
A Boston Theatre illustrated lecture "Scenes and Scenery of Ireland" by Rev J J McNulty promotes Home Rule. The event drew an immense crowd, with Irish groups and local officials in attendance and a fundraising goal of 3000 to 4000 dollars for the Home Rule fund.

He leaves a son and a daughter.
