Harvard University class of 1910 celebrated in robes and mortar boards as rain and thunder threatened the Ivy Day events. Guests sheltered under stadium colonnades while seniors prepared remarks and performances. Ivy Theatre exercises and yard celebrations stood out as the highlight of the day.
Obstinate women lingered in Hollis Hall window delaying the annual tree oration for seniors. Guards calmly rebuked them, then warned of summary action if they stayed. The seniors waited as the group finally departed, but much time was lost.
Frances Sherbourne of Boston wed Philip VerPlanck of Brooklyn after a dare party at Coney Island. They married by Judge Engler at his Hoboken home on Newark Street, following their earlier run in Bath Beach with friends shouting praise. VerPlanck is vice president of a Manhattan milling firm.

Rutland Vermont June 24 Fletcher Proctor former Vermont governor presents his son Mortimer R Proctor grandson of late Senator Redfield Proctor with a 1000 acre timber land gift encompassing Mt Pico. Peak stands at 3900 feet and the property includes a hunting lodge and pond. Mortimer, a Yale sophomore, departed for Europe from New York with a classmate.
James C Parker former Democratic senator who served two terms in the 1892 state legislature died in Methuen after a weeklong illness at age 83.

Greenfield June 24 Showing little emotion as his father wept George W Coleman the self confessed embezzler of 300000 from National City Bank of Cambridge began serving a 15 year federal prison sentence after arrival at Franklin county jail. In a separate Middlesex case District Attorney Higgins won acquittals for seven people charged as accessories after the murder of Clarence F Glover with Judge Stevens directing a not guilty verdict for each. The defendants included Mrs Lillian M Glover and others linked to the widow and Glover estate.
Richardson denied arranging for Coleman to work on jail accounts. The jail workshop shows chair-caning and reseating, a large farm, and a strawberry patch. Coleman, after being searched for a watch and bills, was held in cell No 9 and offered bath and supper. he refused to talk to the public for $1000.
Government witnesses testified none of the seven defendants knew of Hattie La Blancs presence in the Glover home between the murder and discovery. The girl remains jailed awaiting trial as the defense presented its seven witnesses and questioned counsel's conduct. Centinard on Page 8 Third Column.
Hosemen Philip Harrington Joseph Murphy and George Williams of the local fire department were blown about 10 feet into the roadway and slightly burned during a gasoline explosion while fighting a mysterious fire in an unoccupied cottage on Sachem Street in Revere late last night.
The prompt arrival of the fire department stopped a blaze that gutted the origin cottage and damaged a second, as flames spurted thirty feet. Water was applied quickly. three firefighters were injured rushing a line through the door but were cared for by a nearby physician. The loss is estimated under $1200 and the fire marshal will investigate, with carpenters and plumbers at work nearby in the last two days.
