Arrested at pistol point after long Back Bay chase

Patrolman Murphy captured Samuel Magee after a pursuit from Park Square through Providence and Church streets to the Public Garden about 11:30. Magee, 49, of 11 Anderson Street, allegedly stole a watch and chain worth $15 from Richard Dixon of 43 Milford Street. Magee surrendered after the officer drew his revolver to threaten to shoot.

DROWNS DESPITE HEROISM

Daniel Sheehan 22 of Fall River Massachusetts drowned in Gravesend Bay after his rowboat capsized. His friend William Turner 19 dived to save him and brought him to shore but Sheehan died and Turner collapsed from exhaustion.

Mysterious Nurse Death Leads State Police to Melrose

Miss Mary J. Crane a 31 year old Melrose Hospital nurse died after a two hour illness. State Detectives Whitney and Rhoades arrived with the Medical Examiner Perley at Churchill's warerooms for an autopsy. Perley will file his report to District Attorney Sanderson, who will review findings before any arrests. Body to be buried in Litchfield Me.
