During a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon a bolt hit the Narrow Gauge Hotel near the Point of Pines. It ran down a chimney and two people were prostrated. Newell Paul, a neighborhood resident, was rendered insensible and life was despaired of briefly, but he recovered and injuries are not expected to be lasting.
An advertisement for Estabrook and Eaton’s cigarette style cigar lauds it as among the best known and best liked. It promotes the product as made in the cleanest factory in Boston and highlights its domestic origin and reputation.
A twister struck Lincoln and surrounding areas last night causing about 100000 dollars in damage. The storm traveled from the southwest a mile and a half wide by twelve miles long damaging Hiiness Asylum for Feeble Minded Children Witness Odd Fellows' Shaw Home Lincoln College Roller Flour mills and the Coyty Poor Farm. Homes and stores were wrecked and thousands of trees uprooted.
A heavy summer storm struck Moos and nearby areas in New Hampshire on June 28 causing extensive barn and equipment damage. Farmers report losses of thousands, with livestock and implements destroyed as families sheltered during the blast.
Four men are under arrest in connection with a killing near Gay. Police say a gruesome incident led to the arrests, with one suspect reported severely injured and others taken into custody within hours of the event.
