Paris June 20 Allied leaders express hope for an early peace treaty signing. Erzberger and Noske to head a reconstituted German cabinet after Scheidemann fall, driven by public sentiment toward ending uncertainty and accepting allied terms. Signing expected Monday unless Berlin delays for effect.
Yale crews narrowly beat Harvard by a little over a length in a desperate two mile duel. Both sides battled from the start with Yale drawing ahead midway, Harvard responding with a final sprint but Yale held on for the win.

Paris June 20 The Temps publishes a Berlin despatch stating that the Independent Socialists issued a proclamation urging the government to sign the peace treaty as is. The document warns of serious consequences if the government refuses to sign.
After a three hour meeting at the Quincy House President W D Mahon of the Amalga mated Association of Street and Electric Railway Employees won a postponement of the Bay State Street Railway Company strike set to begin at 4 am Sunday. He also secured pledges from delegates of the Woburn Lowell and Lawrence unions to return to work and urge their members back.
Mr. Mahon said the issue of the Book register and other grievances will be handled through the regular process, with arbitration to follow standard procedures.
A driverless oil tank truck on Water Street in Quincy hit the crossing gate at Quincy Adams Street and crashed into a train just beginning to stop. The vehicle damaged the tank and leaked oil. the driver had left the truck idling on the curb while he entered a store.
The trial of Herman L. Barney and John F. Dillon for the murder of Patrolman Charles E. Deininger in Chelsea three months ago featured witnesses unable to identify Barney as the man in the fur coat.
