Washington June 19 With Secretary Baker’s withdrawal of opposition fresh impetus comes to Congress to extend draft age limits so the War Department can muster ample manpower to execute President Wilson’s plan for an army of unlimited size for the war on Germany.
Italians stop Austrian advances along the Piave front while German forces launch a major assault on Rheims. French defenses mount a strong counter effort to halt the enemy and protect the left wing of the Crown Prince's army.
