At Carney Hospital 3 year old Mina Hain clings to a wax doll given by nurses as her mother, burned saving the child from a yard cremation, prays for life. Doctors hold faint hope if she survives today. the child murmurs for her dolly and hugs the figure as the family receives support from Sisters of Mercy.
A boy and girl played with matches in the rear yard at 599 East Fourth Street. Mina suffered severe burns when her dress ignited. Mrs. Hain and Patrolman Collins quickly extinguished the flames and Mina was rushed to a hospital. Doctor Devine assessed serious injuries to her left side.
A short note advises remedies for sleep trouble, recommending Horsford’s Acid Phosphate taken as a half teaspoonful in half a glass of water before retiring to improve rest.
June 19 Boise Idaho The state presented the Goddard bomb and admitted Miners Magazine denunciatory articles as evidence in the Haywood case. Justice Luther Goddard described finding and preserving the bomb used in an alleged assassination plot. Orchard testified with clear and detailed testimony supporting the prosecution.
The veteran Colorado jurist testified that he first learned of the bomb from Orchard's confession shown in Denver on February 12, 1906. He noted finding a rusted screw at his gate, and the next day General Wells raised the pine box containing the device. The bomb and attachments were sealed by Pinkerton detectives and witnesses, then placed in a vault with seals from a notary and others.

Princeton June 19 Grover Cleveland was near death for two days due to a malignant internal growth but tonight his doctors say he has passed the danger point and will recover. He was stricken after Princeton University commencement and planned to travel to his summer home in New Hampshire where Mrs. Cleveland was headed to meet him.
Mr. Cleveland’s health deteriorated rapidly with an internal malignant growth diagnosed by Princeton and New York specialists. Dr. Carn ochan, Dr. Bryant, and Mrs. Cleveland were summoned, with Drs. Janeway and McCosh joining in consultation. By today his condition improved and doctors expect a likely recovery.
At Norwood station about 9 30 tonight Dr Thomas H OToole Arthur Walker and James F Costello were in an open buggy when a crossing gate dropped on them. Costello was unconscious and Dr OToole lost several teeth while Walker and the horse were badly cut. The group narrowly avoided being struck by a freight train.
Dr O'Toole drove Walker home after treating an injured hand at Readville shops. Costello rode with them. In darkness a freight train backed toward the crossing. The gong warned too late as the gate struck Costello, knocking him unconscious and possibly fracturing his skull. O'Toole and Walker sustained injuries.
Harvard brings its best nine to face Yale this afternoon at 2 on Soldiers Field. The contest is expected to be close with victory likely decided by Harvard’s pitching versus Yale’s batting. A large Harvard cheering section and a New Haven delegation add to the crowd and tension.
Both nines held snappy practice yesterday on Soldiers Field with Yale in the forenoon and Harvard taking grounders after lunch. The Yale team used the second string pitchers for lively batting practice before the varsity lined up to continue drills at Huntington avenue grounds.
The Interstate Commerce Commission announced a proceeding to investigate the Hamburg American Packet Company. Peter Wright & Sons, agents for Cosmopolitan Shipping and Cosmopolitan lines, allege pooling and monopoly in restraint of trade. The inquiry is described as potentially one of the most stupendous not previously attempted.
Charles Travaill of the fishing schooner Viking was attacked from behind by three highwaymen in Sudbury Street last night. He fought back fiercely, holding them off after a struggle during which his wallet containing about $800 and two gold watches were at risk. Travaill suffered severe facial cuts and bruises. wounds were treated at the Relief station.
United States Senators Lodge and Crane deadlocked over the merger issue as the railroads committee stalled action. A major political showdown looms with Lodge urging cautious deliberation while factions move to block the Cole bill in the Senate if the House passes it.

A frightened bay horse rampaged through Jamaica Plain injuring three people. Mr. and Mrs. B H Tobin of 22 Welles Ave and Miss Bessie Greer of 33 Hyde Park Ave are in critical condition at Faulkner Hospital.
Mr. Tobin and wife were riding a new horse when it terrified at a passing train and dashed toward Washington Street. The carriage struck a telephone pole, injuring Mr. Tobin with a mild brain concussion, facial and rib injuries, and severely shaken Mrs. Tobin. A bystander, Miss Bessie Greer, was knocked down and injured, later taken to Faulkner Hospital. The horse was recaptured and housed at Brady's stable.
Forecast for Boston and vicinity calls for Thursday partly cloudy and cooler with light easterly winds. Friday remains partly cloudy. Washington reports New England showers on Thursday except fair in north Maine, and showers Friday with variable winds mostly southeast.
The battleships Maine Iowa and Indiana sailed from Virginia Capes for southern drill grounds amid surprise to crew. Reports say Washington orders touched on the Japanese question and mobilization of a Pacific fleet may have driven the move. Some sailors remained ashore awaiting clarity on their fate.
