Among Merrimac passengers from Rio Janeiro May 26 are Rear Admiral Lanman Commander A W Johnston and Lieut Commander H D Manley. The flag ship Lancaster and steamer Ticonderoga were at Rio and Wasp at Montevideo May 17. All well. The Brazilian Chamber of Deputies was dissolved amid opposition to the Prime Minister who carried abolition of slavery last session. Elections for a new Chamber are set for September. Yellow fever at Montevideo was disappearing.
