Habeas petition and alimony dispute wrap Boston court action

In Superior Court and Supreme Court actions, Clarence W. Rowley filed a habeas corpus petition on behalf of Brown against Sheriff John Quinn claiming unlawful detention and seeking release. Conant Statue Unveiled in Salem Dedication Day

The Roger Conant statue, moved from the Museum of Fine Arts Boston to a boulder on Washington Street Salem, was unveiled. About five hundred people attended from Boston for dedicatory exercises with Governor Foss, Governor Aram J. Pothier of Rhode Island, U.S. Rep. A. P. Gardner, and mayors Hurley of Salem and McDonald of Beverly. Hurley delivered the acceptance and Pothier gave the principal address.
