Grenadier Guards Arrival and Boston Welcome Schedule

The Grenadier Guards Band will arrive in Boston at 4:15 AM to attend a 9 AM rehearsal. They will be met by the Executive Committee, escorted by Fusileers, and breakfasted at Warwick House, with a welcome at 7 AM. A parade will proceed to the Common for a reception with Kaizer Franz ad and the US Marine Band, then to the Lancaster House. A dinner at Faneuil Hall is planned, and flags at Warwick House were lent by Capt. Babcock.

Libel in Admiralty Over Wages on Barque Magna Charta

In U. and S. District Court on June 15 before Judge Lowell, Oskay Haleau sues Barque Magna Charta for unpaid wages from a voyage to Russia and back, claiming $285.45 due after a leg injury and discharge in Cette. The defense argues libellant deserted drunk, was discharged by the Consul, and that wages were later settled at $15 per month with a tender of $710. petitions in bankruptcy follow.

Charlestown Observes Bunker Hill Anniversary Festivities

The Charlestown event marks the Bunker Hill anniversary with salutes morning concerts and aquatic sports on the Mystic River at 8 o'clock. A procession of military companies and Grand Army posts will attend the dedication of the soldiers and sailors monument in Winthrop Square at noon with schoolchildren singing and addresses by Mayor Kent and Hon. Richard Frothingham. The afternoon features armory dinners and evening band concerts. In Cambridge, an elopement involves William McDonald and Mrs Danforth, both prominent Methodist Church members, with McDonald a Cambridge street carpenter and Mrs Danforth a milliner. they have reportedly left together, leaving four and one child respectively.
