Framingham Day Crowning Two Hundredth Anniversary

Framingham marks its bicentennial with a grand town celebration led by M V M Battery B Worcester band and civic groups. The day features a parade, concerts, oration by Theodore C Hurd, a speech by Senator George F Hoar, and the Benediction by Rev John F Heffernan followed by an evening banquet at Company E armory.

The Framingham Orator's Duty Recalled by Clerk Hurd

The Honorable Theodore C. Hurd, Clerk of Middlesex County Courts, delivered the commemorative oration at Framingham's celebration yesterday, recapping local civic progress and duties to the assembled audience.

Framingham Parade Divisions Reach Montwaite Literary

A five division parade through Framingham featured civic groups, farm products, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers, and the fire department led by Chief A Howard Fiske. The 10 15 am march route included Concord Irving Alexander Waushakum Hollis and other streets. Governor Crane reviewed the line at the common before guests were dined at John M Merriam’s residence and later to Montwaite for a literary event.

Framingham Bi Centennial Exercises Close Big Day

Samuel B Bird chaired the day as 525 guests filled the Framingham tables. Walter Adams acted as toastmaster while speeches were delivered by J J Myers and John Hammond along with Kiam M Olin J H Goodell John B Brophy Henry Spalding J Elder and J F Heffernan. A regret letter from Frederick L Hosmer of Berkeley Calif closed the exercises marking the big day.

Printing Trades Council Convention Opens in Union Hall

The New England Allied Printing Trades Council convened in Union Hall on Tuesday morning. Resolutions urged affiliated unions to appoint eight hour day committees and support a referendum on a petition signed by 60 000 voters in the Commonwealth. Officers elected include Richard Moore of Boston as president G E Ward of Lowell as first vice president W E F Mauger of Norwood as second vice president Bred Irwin of Manchester as third vice president and P N McMahon of North Adams as secretary treasurer. Next convention to be held in Lowell.

North Atlantic squadron led by Rear Admiral Farquhar is due to enter the harbor this forenoon after departing Newport Rhode Island yesterday morning. Navy Ships Gather in Boston for Bunker Hill Day Celebrations

The Boston Merchants Association board met at Youngs Hotel with President Carter presiding. New members elected include Dodge Haley Co Dominion Steamship Eastern Drug Carter Ink American Woollen. Travelling salesman Patrick McCarron dies after brief illness

Patrick W. McCarron longtime Boston School Supply Company representative died at his Dorchester home after a short illness.
