Mary O Neil 19 of 139 Everett Street East Boston attempted suicide by leaping from Commercial wharf at 7 last night. Rescued by Harry Ferrin mate of the towboat C H Hersey and carried to Station 8 then home. Police say family trouble with mother led to the act. Ferrin braved the danger to save her life. She was reported nearly recovered upon arrival at the station. She is described as pretty and well known in East Boston.
