Commencement Week Opens With Class Day At Las Ell Seminary

Body of Miss Browne recovered at Gloucester harbor

Miss Browne of Jamaica Plain died by her own hand Tuesday night while aboard the steamer John Brooks en route to Portland. Her body was found Thursday aboard the Laura Bell mackerel schooner near Dogbar. James F Pendergast of Roxbury, 25, was jailed for robbing Oscar Fogel of Brookline of a gold watch, ring, and four dollars. Augustus Tesche was arrested Friday as a deserter from the German bark Sirene and will be kept in jail until the bark sails again. Richard Tehan is under arrest for assaulting Anglnes Juilians at 152 Merrimac Street with a pistol.

Thieves Loot East Boston Post Office Branch

Thieves broke into the East Boston branch at Winthrop block Maverick square on Friday morning. They forced the window fastenings and shutters, pried open the safe, seized a $1000 bond belonging to Co. TV. Jenkins, chief clerk, $450 in stamps and about $200 in cash, and took papers of value to Mr Jenkins.
