Kinney once famed for lavish banquets and a luxury lifestyle was arrested in his 704 Commonwealth Avenue apartment on August larceny charges totaling 21 119 75 from the Flinn O Rourke Company of New York He admitted to being the missing assistant cashier known as Edward C Kin dred and agreed to return to New York with detectives without extradition. His arrest unsettled members of the Bay State Automobile Association who had recently received a $300 pool table from him for their clubroom at the Hotel Lenox and stunned prominent auto men who had hosted him.
Five men were injured when they were thrown from a team in a runaway accident on Jackson Street. Two men, Sidney Segal and Max Segal, are listed in dangerous condition at Hale Hospital with severe bruises and possible skull fractures.
