Harbor Tragedy Crowns Roxbury Man Drowned at Jeffries Point
Walter L. Green of 11 Mills Street Roxbury drowned about 100 feet from Jeffries Point East Boston after the 12 foot tender swamped on a harbor sail. Four others were saved though three were near exhaustion. The missing diver was recovered after half an hour by Jeffries Point Rowing Association members.

Train Crashes Into Car. Fatalities Near Van Cortlandt Park
In New York on June 12 a Yonkers division train of the New York & Putnam Railroad struck a Riverside Drive car owned by George Moakes. Frank B. Read was killed and Moakes’s 16 year old daughter lost a foot. Chauffeur John Spencer was badly injured and may not recover. The Moakes family escaped with minor injuries. The accident followed the car crossing the track just as the train emerged from a tree obscured approach near Van Cortlandt Park.

Collision sinks Canada steamer near Sorel. five dead
The Richelieu and Ontario Navigation Company steamer Canada bound for Montreal collided with the Cape Breton six miles below Sorel. The Canada sank twenty minutes later with 110 aboard. five died including Alfred Thibeault and his two sons. Purser Bonneterre and passenger Brunet are missing.
