Cronin Re-Elected Suffolk County President in Large Vote

William J. Cronin was re-elected by a 209 to 156 vote as Suffolk county president of the A O H, the largest convention turnout in the region. He will begin his fourth two year term, with Mathew Cummins as Division 2 opponent. The vote saw strong backing from county and division leaders and ended with mutual pledges of allegiance to the order.

Man Rescued After Choking At City Restaurant

Martin J. Connelly, 65, of 26 East Canton Street, nearly died after a piece of meat became lodged in his throat while dining at 133 Dover Street. Division 5 officers and City Hospital doctors acted quickly, bringing him to surgery in seven minutes. The throat operation removed the meat, and he soon recovered and went home.
