Railroad laborers strike over wage cuts in Delaware and New Jersey

About 50 railroad section hands and gravers train men struck at Perryville Delaware this morning to oppose wage reductions. In Jersey City New Jersey thirty blacksmiths and helpers from Theodore Smith and a Bro. machinists walked out seeking a 25 percent wage increase.

Five Story Lumber Building Fire on Wareham Street

A blaze at Nos 17 and 19 Wareham Street extends through to Plympton and gut the rear upper floors. Firefighters respond to a third alarm as two thirds of the brick block smolders, threatening nearby lumber yards and adjacent properties. The building housed Cummings Kenney & Co and tenants include J L Brown and Sanger McClellan carpenters. collapse leaves only shell of the rear structure.
