Gas Workers Win Eight Hour Day Demonstration Planned

New York reports a successful eight hour strike with the New York Gas Company agreeing to hire an extra crew for an eight hour shift. Police stationed to prevent riots stood down as peace prevailed. Up to 100000 workers expected to join tomorrow's demonstration led by the Eight Hour League with banners from many trades. Brooklyn masons adopt eight hour rule. Jerome Park races feature Australian and Tubman victories. Hoffman reportedly backing Greeley for presidency. Brooklyn frauds alleged.

Inundation of the Po Leaves Ferrara Province Homeless

Paris Assembly Debates Army Bill Teaches Peace Pledge

Abduction and Extradition Case Involving Rufus Bratton

An American named Rufus Bratton, accused of robbing a North Carolina post office, was seized at London Ontario, chloroformed, and sent to North Carolina via Detroit. The case was referred to the Dominion Government for extradition and formal demands were made.
