June 8 report says two diamonds were stolen from a gold cross shipped from this city to Archbishop John Baptiste Pitaval at Santa Fe New Mexico. Private investigators and authorities are probing the mysterious theft.

A gold cross valued at 2000 made by W D Feely was sent in a sealed package to Santa Fe New Mexico. In transit one diamond was taken. The archbishop received the broken seal cross and returned it to Feely. On return tampering occurred and another diamond disappeared valued at 700.
