Membership in the Twenty-Five Dollar Club organized by local supporters to aid Baby Hippo in Boston is expanding. Notable enrollees include Mayor Curley, Senator Lodge, city officials, and business figures like Harris Forbes & Co. and A. C. Ratshesky, with contributions requested to join the Baby Hippo Fund.
John Bantry argues in America that irregular Republican forces did not wholly seize Ulster. He asserts Free State troops held Pettigee and that Michael Collins has better control at the Ulster boundary than elsewhere, challenging common explanations of British intervention.
Fairfield Maine June 7. Rachal Lowe 18 a high school junior saved her classmate Artie McKinnon from drowning in the Kennebec River but was swept away and lost her life. A third companion warned of the dangerous current and went for a boat.

Senator Monk of Watertown proposed an order seeking a Supreme Court opinion on constitutionality, sending the measure to the rules committee and postponing further discussion until today’s session.

Martin A. Haun, a Charlestown clothing dealer, claims he was beaten by police after a call described as a riot near Winter Hill. He was found wandering with a bleeding nose on Broadway in Somerville.
Washington June 7. London reports that Colonel George Harvey American ambassador will wear trousers at social functions. Senate demands for recall grow as Senator Norris jokes the dignified King may be offended. Senator Harrison agrees Harvey should be recalled.
A 15 year old Bermuda girl who sailed away with Captain Thomas Smith of Fall River was found in New York and the skipper faced abduction charges in police court.
Police acting on Mrs. Smiths suggestion locate the girl and the captain in the Commodore Hotel. Captain Smith with the girl registered as man and wife. bail set at 10000 by Magistrate Levine. The child sent to the Children’s Society while Mrs Smith plans a visit to the captain.
Two men died and a score or more were overcome as Greater Boston endured the season’s heat. The city recorded 90 degrees officially at 4 p.m. and 98 on streets, easing to 80 by midnight. Humidity remained normal, though discomfort rose with the heat.

The Legislature yesterday rejected Mayor Curley’s Harvard Bridge reconstruction plan over the Charles River and his measures to lower Boston Elevated Railway fares, declaring all mayoral bills vetoed and the plans ended for the year.
Two game wardens were dispatched to northern Maine to arrest Carl Sutter and Margaret Sutter who call themselves the modern Adam and Eve for breaking Maine game laws. Citizens from across New England had complained after seeing photos in a Boston paper showing Adam and Eve with partridge and deer killed out of season.
United States Senator James A. Reed fell suddenly ill in Caruthersville Missouri while campaigning for the Democratic nomination for the U S Senate. He spoke briefly then was driven to a hospital as physicians offered aid.
