The Ways and Means Committee reported a bill late yesterday to authorize a $3 million State expenditure for developing the East Boston flats. It is the year’s most significant city development proposal and indications favor its passage.
Formal charges accusing Senator William Lorimer of Illinois were presented to the Senate by Senator Cullom. The charge text, a memorial by Clifford W. Barnes of Chicago, cites bribery of Illinois legislators and was referred to the committee on privileges and elections after partial reading.
