A deadly incident in Albany leaves one man dead another dying and a third person injured. Police or medical responders responded to the scene and began investigations into the cause and identifying suspects or witnesses. Further details were not immediately released.
The 208 mile New York Motor Club endurance run from New York to Albany ended in a fatal crash when a car collided with a high speed trolley near Albany. Clarence McKenzie of New York died, Howard Mosher of Brooklyn sustained severe injuries, and James Swan of Boston was shaken and injured. Mosher’s condition was described as possibly life threatening.
A high speed trolley collision at Clinton Heights station kills McKenzie who was in the auto’s rumble seat. Swan and two passengers are injured as bystanders move them to Clinton Heights Hotel and then City Hospital for treatment.
Lincoln Beachey, famed air navigator, rose from Revere to Boston Common, circled the State House dome, and attempted a return to Revere. The engine failed over the sea between Revere and Nahant, forcing a tow to land by fishing boats.
Captain Beachey completed a landmark aeronautic trip over Boston in excellent conditions despite counter winds. He started from Revere, circled City Hall and Beacon Street, skimmed past the Park Street Church spire, and landed at the Common. Governor Guild sent congratulations after receiving Beachey’s message.
