Ancients of Boston Celebrate 249th Birthday Parade and Dinner

A Boston Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company day began with a dawn drum and fife detachment, marching through crowded streets to Faneuil Hall. In a packed New Old South Church, Reverend Brooke Herford preached on authority, followed by musical tributes and a memorial toast. Captain Temple announced losses, honored veterans, and invited the church and schools to next year’s two hundred fiftieth celebration with dignitaries including Governor Ames and notable officers.
