Liverpool Market Reports May 27 Cotton and Provisions

The Liverpool Cotton Market for the week shows 41,000 bales sold, 9,500 to speculators, 6,000 to exporters, with a Friday total of 7,000 sales. Opening declined 3d per American, recovered after news. market quiet at close with New Orleans middling 28 1/4d, Uplands 28d. In port stock stands at 340,000 bales, 19,000 American. Other markets report mixed shifts in breadstuffs, butter, bacon, and tea. London markets note steady breadstuffs and rice with upward tendencies in some commodities.
