Half Century to Brockton Sets New Record for Riders

A June cycling day brought slim rain and dusty roads as nine Rough Riders' Century Club cyclists finished Nashua to Copley square in three hours twenty minutes. Captain A D C Newcomb's half century to Brockton set a completion record with all starters finishing. One minor accident occurred near Plainville with P F Wood's rim damaged but repaired. a long list of riders finished including Newcomb, Smith, Brown, and Cambridgeshire’s McPhee who completed 190 miles unpaced in six hours thirty eight minutes.
