A Boston retailer announces an enormous surplus sale of $75,000 worth of tailor-made suits from M Mamlock & Son New York. Every garment was designed for this season and would typically fetch about twice the sale price. Bargains proclaimed with emphasis on true value.
Well and strongly made bicycle suits marketed at three to four dollars with quick sale prices of three fifty, four dollars and four fifty. Extra value noted as being priced lower than competing outlets by at least one to two dollars. Patterns described as popular and cloth quality highlighted.

John B. Moran returns from Salem where he defended the O Sullivan libel case and accuses Mayor Quincy of political bravado. Moran alleges the mayor knew in spring 1886 of fraud by Mulrey and others and cites checks bearing city employee names and a contractor, once held by the mayor’s secretary.
